EMT – Basic
This program is primarily designed for Ambulance/EMS personnel, but is appropriate for anyone who may be required to respond to emergencies and has access to emergency care equipment. This course combines lecture, skill demonstration and skill practice and has attendance and academic performance requirements to stay in the program. In addition to the class sessions students must complete NIMS 100 and 700 through a free online independent study module.
Prerequisites: Course participants must be at least 18 years of age at the first class session. All students must meet the Functional Position Description for EMT. These include vision and hearing acuity as well as reading/writing and physical abilities. A complete list will be furnished to all students at the first class session.
